Assisi is a town abundant with history and art. It is also the birthplace of St Francis, who founded the order of the Franciscans and one of the most popular destinations visited from pilgrims from all over the world.

Assisi is a lovely town with a lot of history and a rich heritage, particularly in religion. Visit the many religious sites which inhabit Assisi, including the Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the oldest churches in the town. Parts of the church can be dated back to as far as the 9th Century and it’s a fantastic display of the history behind the town.

Whilst on your visit to the town you’ll be taken to the Basilica of St Francesco d’Assisi, the Basilica of St Francis. The basilica is one of the most important places in Christian pilgrimage and is nearly 800 years old.
